Summary:
In Rack Fire Protection Storage Solutions
As buildings are being built higher every year, heights are
exceeding the levels in which ceiling-only protection is an option.
Not only is height a concern, but other storage arrangements
have challenges where ceiling only-protection may not be an
option due to flue spaces and closely spaced aisles. The need for
multiple in-rack sprinkler options has never been higher than it is
today with the many unique rack storage arrangements requiring
fire protection. In this webinar, we will discuss the restrictions on
ceiling-level sprinkler protection. Apply new in-rack design
technology to provide solutions where ceiling level protection is
not practical. We will identify the new challenges that are being
presented in fire protection with higher buildings and new rack
storage arrangements.
Speaker Bio:
Shaun Kramer, The Viking Corporation, Senior Director of Technical
Services & Training, has been with The Viking Corporation for 20 years.
Shaun is Nicet Level III Certified in both Water – Based Systems Layout,
and Special Hazards Suppression Systems. Prior to joining Viking, Shaun
was an Estimator/Project Manager/Sprinkler System Designer for 8
years with two sprinkler contractors. Shaun is a member on the NFPA 13
Technical Committee for Sprinkler Discharge Criteria, NFPA 13
Correlating Committee, and the NFSA Engineering & Standards
Committee.
