It is the morning of March 16 and the future is not clear. In response to the calls to practice social distancing for the next 8 weeks by various leaders (especially those in the scientific community) we have suspended our March 19 meeting. The May 7th meeting is still "open" for registration, but I anticipate that will likely be a virtual, and not in-person.

I encourage everyone to do their part to "flatten the curve" and practice good hygiene. SP

The board voted this week to approve renaming the membership grade for AHJ's to "Enforcement Official" for the purpose of removing the "in uniform" requirement and making clear that the no-cost membership grade is available to all public officials who help keep our communities safe. The membership grade description has been edited to now read as follows:

Enforcement Officer - a public official that is the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) or other code enforcement or safety officer. These include the Fire Department, the Police and Sheriff departments, and municipal code officials.

As one of our board members is already a member of this grade, the table was updated to reflect that an Enforcement Officer can hold a chapter position with board approval.
